Griffin Partners has purchased several office buildings from The Nassau Bay Development Company and plans to demolish 12 low-rise office buildings near the Johnson Space Center to build a $150 million, mixed-use real estate project with apartments, a hotel, shops and office space. We expect to break ground on the project in phases; however, we envision the project with a 320 unit multi family development, a 190-room hotel, up to 70,000 square feet of retail space, and approximately 600,000 square feet of office space. Demolition of the buildings began in April 2008, and a significant part of the development will be in place by the 2nd quarter of 2009. This development ties in well with the completion of the spur road from I-45 to NASA Parkway at El Camino in mid 2008.
