Dan Starr
Dan is an experienced sales and management professional who has managed sales teams of
up to 14 on both regional and national accounts. Dan comes to Griffin Partners from the
development & leasing section of a commercial REIT after gaining experience in financial
analysis, contract analysis & administration on projects up to $50 million in size for a
commercial construction. There he served as liaison to legal counsel providing industry-
specific insight on complex construction litigation. He also represented his firm in
negotiations with C-level executives and elected officials.
As a member of the leasing staff, Dan works in the areas of tenant representation and
corporate real estate needs. He works directly with Drew Lewis, our Co-Chairman whose
37 years of experience is a resource for his clients. Dan also works with Chris Lewis, Vice
President of Leasing, on a series of working client assignments. Their group has handled
millions of square feet of tenant requirements in leasing, building, purchasing or
developing to meet their clients’ needs.
Dan is a graduate of Texas A&M with a degree in Political Science and a member of the
Delta Chi Fraternity. Dan also has a Master’s degree in Political Science from the
University of St. Thomas. Prior to transferring to Texas A&M Dan played varsity
football for the Rice Owls before injuries forced his retirement.
Born in Raleigh, North Carolina Dan moved to Texas as a young child. He is currently
involved in Friends of Padre Island (Big Shell Beach Clean-up on Padre Island National
Seashore), Texas Open Beaches Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and
the Coastal Conservation Association. He is also an avid fisherman, hunter, and kayaker.
Dan and his wife, Sarah reside in Houston. They have a son, Brady Olsen.
