Drew Lewis - Co-Chairman
With
management and ownership experience that spans more than three
decades, Griffin Partners Chairman Drew Lewis is known for
his strong drive, understandingof market conditions, and ability
to recognize and take advantage of future trends. His successful
career includes hundreds of assignments, millions of square
feet, and the creation and development of three successful
companies.
Drew joined with long-time business colleague Fred Griffin six years ago to re-form what had been Griffin/Juban into Griffin Partners. The two have worked to build a company that takes advantage of the unique chemistry between the key employees and the varied skill sets each brings to the firm. For Drew, this includes an exhaustive knowledge of tenants, the commercial real estate business, and a drive to find the best and highest use for every property Griffin Partners handles.
“Each property is like a person. They all have their own personalities,”he says. “Our job is to find that property’s place in the market and enhance its value.”
Before coming to Griffin Properties, Drew served as Chairman of the Board of NAI Houston, a commercial brokerage service company, while devoting a significant portion of his time to client consulting, tenant representation and investments. His background includes virtually all phases of business and commercial real estate including market forecasting, project marketing, leasing, sales, client representation, build-to-suit, building development, sale-leaseback financing and consulting. His facility background relates to users in office, medical and industrial projects, and he has individually been responsible for representation of more than 10 million square feet of project and user transactions.
In spite of his lengthy catalogue of past achievements, Drew’s focus is squarely on the future of Griffin Partners. “I see continued growth,”he says. “We’ll be expanding to larger properties and from markets just in Texas to more of the Southwest.”When I look at where Griffin Partners was six years ago and look ahead to our tenth anniversary, I see a lot of opportunities for our unique team structure.”
A native Houstonian, Drew holds a degree in Industrial-Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston. He enjoys boating, being a member of the Lakewood YachtClub, painting watercolors and working out. He is married with one son, Chris, who is now a principal with Griffin Partners specializing in leasing and acquisitions.
